About Vinay Singh

Behavioral Scientist. Leadership Architect. Global Workforce Strategist.

The bottleneck is behavioral, not technological.

That conclusion didn’t come from a conference keynote or a management book. It was earned — across 25 years on the front lines of corporate talent acquisition, human resources, and learning and development, consulting to more than 100 companies across virtually every major industry sector.

Vinay Singh spent two and a half decades doing what no software platform can: sitting across from thousands of hiring executives, studying the people they chose, and — more revealing — the leaders they produced. What he consistently witnessed was an organization-wide failure not of tools or systems, but of human behavioral architecture. Companies kept buying technology to solve an engagement problem that was fundamentally motivational. The needle never moved.

That pattern demanded a deeper answer.

The world's problem

A great many nations and organizations have a fundamental misunderstanding and extent of human capital management and development. The failures are everywhere and the costs are absolutely staggering. Here are two globally recognized data points:

📊 Gallup, 2025 State of the Global Workplace Report

Employee engagement has fallen to its lowest level in over a decade. Only 31% of U.S. employees are engaged at work — a figure not seen since 2014 — while 17% are actively disengaged. Globally, the picture is even more alarming: engagement has dropped to just 21%, costing the world economy an estimated 8.8 trillion in lost productivity. The root cause? Gallup's research consistently finds that 70% of the variance in team engagement traces directly back to the manager. Gallup + 2

📊 SHRM Civility Index, Q1 2025

The leadership deficit has a human face — and it isn't pretty. Workplace incivility among U.S. employees surged 21.5% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to SHRM's Civility Index. Over three-quarters of U.S. workers — 76% — reported experiencing or witnessing acts of incivility, while 74% expect those conditions to remain the same or worsen. The economic toll: businesses collectively lose an estimated $2.7 billion per day due to incivility-driven productivity loss and absenteeism. Becker's Hospital Review + 2

the world's new solution

📊 this is the great solution here

The key message I want to convey is that this is a "New Kind of Leadership Learning and Development, which is focused on Intrinsic Motivation". This Intrinsic Motivation is actually one of the greatest missing developmental areas in all of leadership development - this is why corporations are not able to solve their Employee Engagement (EX) challenges.

Leadership Envy is a New Era Future of Work solution aimed to meet the 2026 to 2030 challenge.

The Credential Journey

Rather than theorize, Vinay went back to the source. He selected Teachers College at Columbia University — one of the world’s most respected institutions in education and applied behavioral science — to rigorously test his thesis. His Master of Education in Adult Learning and Leadership produced a graduate thesis on the science of intrinsic motivation: why some people find self-directed meaning in their work and growth, while most never do — and what leaders can actually do about it.

His academic pedigree also spans The Ohio State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, New York University, and University of Oxford, giving him an ultra-rare combination of business-world grounding and scholarly depth.

This is not a practitioner who went back to school for a credential. This is a researcher who went to multiple schools because the global industry needs it.

The Credential Journey

The graduate work didn’t end on paper. Vinay productized his research into a behavioral-science-based micro-learning and leadership engine — the foundation of Leadership Envy, designed to identify where self-motivated engagement breaks down in individuals and teams.

Leadership Envy, the teachings combined with the critical coaching that is tailored for each learner, is the culmination of all of it: a platform purpose-built to restore what has been lost — the behavioral, reflective, and transferable skills that define authentic leadership at every level.

The Track Record

For over two decades, Vinay served as a trusted Human Capital Strategy advisor to dozens of the world’s most recognized organizations — including Honeywell, Viacom, Google, Johnson & Johnson, Amazon, Bank of America, AT&T, and HBO — advising both senior HR and IT leaders and across the C-Suite, not just on who to hire, but on how to develop the deeper human qualities that drive organizational excellence: emotional intelligence, multi-generational communication, ethical leadership, and the ability to coach.

Why It Matters Globally

The leadership crisis is not just a company problem. It is not an industry problem. It is a civilization problem — and the data bears it out. Vinay’s work sits at that intersection: rigorous enough for the boardroom, translatable enough for the emerging leader just starting their journey.

Whether you are a C-suite executive looking to transform your organization’s leadership culture, an emerging young professional seeking the most coveted leadership skills that no job description ever asked for, but now, in 2026, companies begging for, or a global institution looking to partner on thought leadership, research, or speaking — Leadership Envy and Vinay Singh are built for that conversation.

Companies have been trying to solve employee experience with never-ending technology advancement for the entire 21st century — and it has not moved the needle. We must apply behavioral science if we are to make real change for younger adults.
